  1. I had sever meningitis i had infection in my spine from my surgery when i was young I almost died from it my doctor saved me i had two surgeries they to rush me to the emergency room i had high fever i was getting sick my headaches were so bad i had infection from my first surgery they had rush me in for second surgery they said if you do not get her here she will not make it

  2. I think it’s so important for us to share our experiences… as you’ve stated so many times – it is scary as a first time mom – I was there once and between my two the experiences they were so different. I’m so happy for you and Josh. Put the birth behind you and just make some happy memories going forward – I did and now my kids are 29 and 27…. and moving onto their own stories. Again thanks for sharing.

  3. I’m about laughing about all the things you brought and didn’t use. I have so much sympathy for what you went through. My first baby I managed to get in the shower sometime after a difficult birth, with my husband supporting me. It was terrible. I birthed 2 more babies and can’t even remember showering afterwards. The nurses always did a good job cleaning me up, bless their hearts!

  4. I highly recommend the Depends for postpartum. I also saw someone online post about them and never would’ve thought they would be better, but they are! I also like that peri bottle with the bent angle better than the one I got at the hospital. I had a c-section, so I didn’t have as many issues down there as someone who had a vaginal birth. I was in the hospital for 4 days and I actually had to walk around the halls after I got to my Mother-Baby room. The nurses would come in and tell me it was time to take my walk, so the slippers and robe came in very handy. We weren’t allowed to wear anything but the hospital issue gowns, which I hated. The one I had for birth was more comfortable than the postpartum one. My hospital just has crappy quality gowns, the one I go to for cardiology has softer, better quality gowns.

    1. That whole spinal headache thing sounds scary! I don’t think I’ve heard of that happening with an epidural. It took my anesthesiologist 3 times to get my epidural in, so I guess that very well could’ve happened to me. I also had the magnesium drip for 24 hours, so I know the yucky groggy feeling you had. I honestly can’t remember much from that day, I was so out of it. I had a worse type of pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome. Don’t recommend it. That was the scariest part for me, I was vomiting a lot and my kidneys shut down for a bit. Post partum wasn’t that bad. Everyone makes a c-section out to be horrible, but it was easy for me. Of course, I’ve had open heart surgery, so everything else is not that bad in comparison! You keep getting those snuggles in as much as you can! I have a 5 year old who still loves to snuggle, but he’s so tall now, he’s all legs. I will miss the day he doesn’t want to snuggle.
